In the early part of our history, the world was dominated by the male species. It can be politics, business, and even livelihood. These aspects in our society in the early days were to rule over women because women were considered to be the weaker sex. The orientation was women, during those dark times are only seen but not heard. They are contained inside the house, bear children, be a home maker, and a wife to the husband. They can offer suggestions and they can comment but they can be sometimes unheeded.
When the opportunity came for some ladies to come to school, it was not to educate them regarding the latest news or about politics. The ladies go to school to learn how to be charming, learn the proper etiquette, and learn how to catch a husband. They were no even allowed to vote! Much less be a member in the senate.
But all that has change. Nowadays, women all over the world are being recognized in whatever field they excel into. The women of today can do whatever the man can do.
They can play the games that only men used to play before. They can work tough jobs that used to be the men’s domain before. And also, they can also make a business run.
In the business sector, many small medium businesses were being managed and owned by a woman. Women starting business at twice the rate of men and there are currently over 10.6 million women-owned business employing 19.1 million people and generating $2.5 trillion in sales. they can now be highly competitive in the male dominant world.
Women with small medium business make on influence over 80% of all purchasing decisions. They take the initiative to make things happen. It is what separates from those who are successful versus to those that just dream. The women can also hard drive towards the success of the company of her choice.
Women business owners are philanthropically active. They are more likely than men to serve in leadership positions in their volunteer pursuits.
The workforce of women small medium business shows more gender equity. Women business owners overall employ a roughly gender-balanced workforce which is 52% women and 48% men compared to the men business owners employ, on average, 38% women and 62% men.
Women and men small medium business owners have different management styles. Women are less hierarchical, may take more time when making decisions, seek more information, and are more likely to draw upon input from others - including fellow business owners, employees and subject-matter experts.
Internationally, women entrepreneurs’ key business concerns are a blend of day-to-day business management issues - maintaining profits, finding good employees, managing cash flow; and external factors - the economy, government business laws, access to technology, and access to capital.
By 2010 women will have the majority of wealth in America.
